Date Night- A New Greek Spot & A Haunted House In The City

👻 Nightmare Before Tinsel is back this year but it’s not a bar, rather a haunted house! It has definitely been upgraded from last year & adjustments have been made for these crazy times!

🔪 Only 4 guest are permitted at once & I feel it’s worth the $15/pp price tag for even just a simple walk through. Grab your tickets HERE!

Take your time!!
It felt very exclusive to have the entire space to ourselves…it was extra spooky also!

😷 Masks are of course required and be sure line up on the red tape outside to social distance while in line. NO TOUCHING anything inside!! Also, it’s one way in/one way out!

🧛‍♀️ Your ticket also includes a drink & a cute “worms in mud” dessert (perfect to bring home to the kiddos!)
*I spoke with one of the owners about that drink ticket including one of their signature spooky cocktails like ‘Blood In A Bag’ & ‘Ecto Cooler’ shots rather than just an IPA or vodka drink. He sounded interested & said he would speak with his partners, so fingers crossed for that change for you guys!

🎃 You can purchase tickets in advance online for a specific time slot, but we had no issues walking up. Warning: there is a bit of a wait this year because of restricted number of guests. Stay patient. Enjoy the Halloween themed tunes & spooky masked characters walking around!

📸 No photos or videography allowed inside but there is an electric chair photo op at the end.

🩸 There are a few “blood splattered” tables outside for enjoying your drinks afterwards or they will give them in to-go cups!

💀 We dined around the corner at the Greek spot but there’s a new Mexican street food spot attached called Sueno (dream in Spanish). It opens to the public on Tuesday Oct 6th. Think empanadas & elote, oversized Day Of The Dead masks as decor.

💎 For those who aren’t familiar, this space used to be a jewelry store & during the holidays it’s such a fun, cheesy holiday bar! *The plan is to see how this goes during Covid before definitely making plans for that one this year.

🧿 From the team that’s responsible for Philly faves Barbuzzo, Little Nonna’s, Bud & Marilyn’s, Lolita’s etc. is this NEW Greek pop-up called Super Spartan!

🚦13th Street is currently closed to traffic making it the perfect spot to dine safely al fresco! The neighborhood is lively & there were even musicians on the streets. So fun!

🇬🇷 The food was authentic! Even the Greek salad comes just like it does there without lettuce and drizzled in Greek olive oil. If you’ve never had it, it’s simply the BEST! It’s the only kind I use in my home!!

🍸 I went for their Greek white because Greece makes the best white ever!! It’s so crisp & insanely smooth! Dave had an ouzo cocktail with fresh mint, grapefruit, & honey. The latter ingredients balanced the licorice taste so well.

🐟 Whole branzino, roasted eggplant dip, & calamari with tzatizki too. Fellow veg-heads, I would skip the eggplant & go for the trumpet mushroom skewers and crispy eggplant for something different.

💙 I pulled out a dress I wore on our anniversary trip in Greece & we spent the whole night reminiscing. It was the sweetest.

Ressies on Open Table.

Takeout via DoorDash

Cheers to date night! XOX, Sar
